Community

Real people. Real practice.

Wellness is better together, with a community built on openness and mutual support.

Our Story

A community built around practice and people

It started in 2016 in a community room with a mix of friends, beginners, and curious neighbors who had never tried yoga before. Watching people from completely different walks of life show up week after week and connect showed me what community-centered wellness can look like.

When COVID hit in 2020, the classes moved online. What initially felt like a setback turned into an unexpected opportunity. Suddenly, people from beyond the neighborhood could join, and those who couldn't leave their homes, especially older adults, had a way to stay active, connected, and supported. That's when our Seniors wellness program was born in 2021.

Over the years, this community has grown from a local library class into a thriving wellness program offering both in-person and online. At its heart, Wellness with Anu remains what it was from the beginning: a hub where people come together to move, breathe, connect, and grow.

Hear from our community members

I am 89 years and have been joining online yoga sessions particularly after Covid. I am managing and coping with age related experiences (sciatica/lumbar spinal stenosis) in spite of recommended surgical intervention.

I have been trying to find some gentle chair yoga classes for the last couple of years. Fortunately, I found this gentle chair yoga class for seniors with Anupma ji.

Her commitment to address our concerns is truly exceptional. Every session progresses like a calmly flowing stream — it's indeed a treat. The flow of her instructions is both polite and clear.

I lovingly and strongly recommend joining her classes.

Community values

These aren't rules. They're the beliefs that shape how we show up for each other.

1

Everyone Welcome

Come as you are. You don't need any prior experience or a certain level of fitness or flexibility. There's a place for you here.

2

Consistency Over Perfection

The most powerful thing you can do for your well-being is show up regularly. This community celebrates consistency and the small efforts that add up over time.

3

Move at Your Own Pace

Every body moves differently. I offer modifications in every class because the goal is for you to feel good, not to keep up with anyone else.

4

Learning Together

I believe in shared learning. Whether I'm teaching a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, I'm always the student too. This community is curious, open, and growing.
